Welcome to the web site of the Barrhead and District Business Forum. The Forum is an alliance of business owners in and around Barrhead, East Renfrewshire, Scotland.
The Barrhead Business Forum was established in 2005 by the late Eric Hickey and a group of local business owners. Membership has grown from a handful of local traders to a current membership of over 100 businesses in Barrhead, Neilston, Uplawmoor, and outlying districts of Barrhead. Membership is open to businesses of all sizes and locations which have an active interest in furthering business and commerce in Barrhead.
The Forum holds monthly membership meetings which typically feature news and updates, presentations and speakers, and networking opportunities. The Forum also actively works on behalf of charities and good causes. In November 2006, on behalf of The Scottish Poppy Appeal, the Forum collected £2504.
The Forum is governed by a management team which works to a written constitution.
The Forum liases with East Renfrewshire Council in the areas of planning, economic development and the regeneration of Barrhead. The Forum also liaises with East Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce and the Barrhead Community Council.
